The PGA Tour caps off its West Coast swing with a trip to Riviera Country Club. Riviera is a classical golf course with tree-lined fairways, deep bunkers, and fast putting greens. As an invitational, the field will be smaller than normal PGA events, with just over 120 golfers in attendance.
Recent winners of this event: Adam Scott, J.B. Holmes, Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson, James Hahn, Bubba Watson (again!), John Merrick, Bill Haas, and Aaron Baddeley.
Looking at these winners there are some trends that can be found.
Trend: 8 of the last 10 winners had finished T15 or better in one of their four most recent appearances at Riviera. Merrick and Hahn were the two outliers.
Trend: 9 of the last 10 winners had played at either Pebble Beach or TPC Scottsdale the year they won at Riviera. Pebble Beach and TPC Scottsdale were the two most recent PGA Tour events. Adam Scott was the one outlier.
When you combine these two trends, there are only 28 golfers in the field who check both boxes. Below is a list of these golfers and their four recent finishes at Riviera.

Patrick Cantlay – Cantlay played this past week at Pebble Beach. His four most recent finishes at Riviera have been: T17th, T15th, and T4th (2020-2018), he did not play from 2014-2017 and missed the cut in 2013.
Joel Dahmen – Dahmen played at both Pebble and TPC Scottsdale. Dahmen has played at Riviera three times and has finished: T5th, MC, MC.
Talor Gooch – Gooch played at TPC Scottsdale two weeks ago. He has played Riviera twice finishing T10th last year and T20th in 2018.
